Cat-number-four

Bridget doesn't go anywhere without cat (see the ratty, grubby looking animal in her hand). Unlike Sophie, who never became attached to any one animal/blanket in her early years, Bridget adopted "cat" when she was about 1 and the rest is history.

Unfortunately, of all the small "stuffies" that she could have become attached to, "cat" is a discontinued product and not easily replaced. We are on "cat-number-four" and have only 2 more replacement cats before we are S.O.L. (both of the replacement cats are in a secret drawer and can be brought out swiftly in an emergency).

I have now taken to writing on the label protruding from cat's hind-quarters "if this ratty cat is found, please return to two-year-old and receive a handsome reward". The last 3 cats that have been lost have never found their way home despite postings on Craigslist so the promise of a reward will hopefully bring home the next cat that decides to take a jaunt.

The only part of the "Cat Chronicles" that we haven't yet figured out is what to do in the event that we burn through the remaining two cats (in the drawer) and eBay doesn't pull through.

Perhaps we will just have to put out a call for all "Beanie Babies, Tabbles the Cats" and see what we turn up!

Nand: Any chance we might find these down in Florida? Do they have to be THE specific Beanie Babies cat, or will a similar one do???? We need to pool our resources on this one!

SO that was YOU on Craig'slist... Too funny! I will see what I can see in my world, and keep my eyes peeled. Once, we lost Maddy's Pink Flower Blankie. It was disastrous. She went to Pasley for the weekend, with Grandma, and came home without her. (Pink Flowered Blankie, that is. Grandma made it home just fine) Anyhow, the NEXT YEAR an Auntie found it up there, and so Pink Flowered Blankie was happily re claimed, and reunited with both Maddy, and Purple Flower Blankie ( a slightly distant second to Pinky) Seb could care less. As long as he has something soft, he is good to go! Except Pink Flowered Blankie. He won't touch her. (Boys got good preservation instincts!)
